Sending SMS Messages
You can send SMS messages from multiple places in Sellify GPT, making it easy to reach out to contacts whenever you need.
Composing from the SMS Inbox
To send a new message:
- Click SMS in the sidebar
- Click + New Message at the top
- Select a contact from your list (or type their name to search)
- Type your message in the compose field
- Click Send
Your message is delivered immediately and appears in the conversation thread.
Sending from a Contact Record
To send an SMS directly from a contact's profile:
- Open the contact's details
- Click the SMS button
- Type your message
- Click Send
The message appears in both the SMS inbox and the contact's activity timeline.
Character and Segment Counter
As you type, you'll see:
- Character Count: How many characters you've used
- Segments: How many SMS segments your message will use
SMS messages have a limit of 160 characters. Longer messages are split into multiple segments (each counted and charged separately). Using emojis or special characters may increase segment count.
Keep messages concise and under 160 characters when possible to save segments and ensure your message displays as one.
Message Templates
For frequently-used messages, use SMS templates. Type the template name with a # prefix (e.g., #FollowUp) to insert a pre-written message.
You can customize templates with:
- Contact name
- Company name
- Deal information
See SMS Templates for more details.
Delivery Status
After sending, you'll see:
- Sent: Message left your system
- Delivered: Contact's phone received it
- Failed: Message couldn't be delivered (check the number)
If a message fails, you can resend it or try a different number.
All SMS messages are logged and encrypted. They're part of your contact's permanent activity record.
